The NC Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute (NC TRaCS) has recently announced the winners of their 2016 Pilot Grant cycle, and BME’s own Dr. Danny Freytes has been awarded one of the few grants given this year. His proposal to develop a testing platform to study the interaction between inflammation agents and repair cells is just the first step to a bettering our response to muscle injuries (cardiac and skeletal). The  NC TRaCS Institute Pilot Grant Program was created to facilitate the transfer of research findings to clinical practice in order to improve the health of North Carolinians, and encourages novel clinical and translational research. Fantastic work, Danny, and congratulations!
