Every week, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences holds the Science Cafe, an event that showcases the state of science in today’s society. Dr. Helen Huang and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Lab members Andy Brandt and Stephanie Huang were on hand last week to present “The Bionic Human: Making Fantasy a Reality.” Their talk delved into the fantasy world of bionic humans and how close we are today to achieving prosthetics that mimic these superhuman-like qualities, especially for amputees. The hour-long event was applauded as “one of the best Science Cafe events” yet.

Watch their talk here, and be sure to attend one of the future Science Cafe events for more great topics!
