BME Faculty member Dr. Jacque Cole is the 2017 recipient of the Junior Faculty Research Grant from the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB)! This grant is intended to be used to help generate pilot data and support early-career investigators. Dr. Cole’s proposed project, “Changes in the Osteovascular Niche Following Ischemic Stroke in Mice,” would expand our understanding of the functional, structural, and cellular changes in osteovasculature that occur following stroke. ASB received nine applications, each of which were reviewed based on the significance of the problem, the scientific approach, and the impact of the project on the candidate’s research program.
