Earlier this month, Dr. Fran Ligler attended the 2017 National Inventors Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Washington, D.C, where she was honored as one of this year’s inductees. The induction included an Illumination Ceremony, where her name was added to a backlit wall of inventors who joined the Hall of Fame before her; a Red Carpet event; the Ceremony, where she received her medal of achievement; and an Innovation Celebration. During the Ceremony, Fran was introduced with a moving video about her background and scientific passion.
Fran’s work with portable optical biosensors earned her this award, along with the well-deserved title of pioneer. Again, we wish to send our heartfelt congratulations to Fran. You are an inspiration to us all!
