In April, our own Dr. Fran Ligler went on an adventure to Nepal that included presenting the keynote speech at a Kathmandu Insitute of Applied Sciences (KIAS) symposium entitled “Research in Applied Sciences: Challenges and Opportunities.” In front of more than 250 individuals, Dr. Ligler delivered a great speech about the importance of increasing the awareness of the biomedical field in developing countries. The KIAS then presented her with an appreciation plaque for her inspiring words and encouragement (left). Congratulations, Fran, and great work representing BME!
