NC State BME Postdoc Brian Cummins, Ph.D won best poster at the NC State Postdoctoral Research Symposium on May 20th. His poster, titled “A portable diagnostic test for parathyroid hormone for use at the point-of-care,” presents a project designing a diagnostic test using a fluorescent sandwich immunoassay that is intended to recognize whole parathyroid hormone without recognizing metabolized fragments of parathyroid hormone. Having this diagnostic tool available in an operating room would improve standard of care. His abstract can be accessed here. BME congratulates Brian for his achievement!
