Feelin’ DNA, a UNC Chapel Hill based student group, is making waves with their approach to science education — literally. The group, one of whose founding members is BME undergraduate Joanna Cao, 3D prints scientific models that are specifically geared toward visually impaired students, therefore enhancing the quality of their education (and understanding of certain topics). So far, the group has created heart diagrams, bacteriophages, and DNA structures, all 3D printed from the UNC Makerspace. You can read more about Feelin’ DNA and their mission to create a more inclusive science education curriculum here.
