This past summer, BME’s own Assistant Professor Rahima Benhabbour presented her research at an event honoring the sixth anniversary of Blackstone Entrepreneurship Network-RTP, a partnership between four Triangle universities (including UNC) and the Blackstone Charitable Foundation. Held at UNC, the event celebrated the accomplishments of the network and included such attendees as Blackstone Charitable Foundation Executive Director Amy Stursberg and UNC Chancellor Carol L. Folt. The event also highlighted the success of Dr. Benhabbour’s company AnelleO, which makes the first 3D printed intravaginal ring designed as a platform technology to treat women’s health conditions. More recently, Dr. Benhabbour had the chance to speak with Chancellor Folt at a follow-up meeting after the event and discuss her research in further detail–a chance Dr. Benhabbour referred to as “wonderful” and a “highlight!” See below for a photo of the two after their meeting.
