Current Research

  • In vivo and in vitro neurophysiological studies examine the cortical response evoked by different conditions of single and multi-site stimuli.
  • Metrics of sensory perception are obtained in order to quantitatively determine correlates with cortical activity under similar stimulus conditions.
  • Neural network studies enable determination of the roles that specific neurotransmitter systems play in cortical information processing.
  • Instrumentation design and development enables the high fidelity of stimulus delivery and promotes collaboration through the distribution of portable sensory diagnostic devices.

Overview of collaborative projects

  • Several collaborations have been initiated and our ongoing in several departments at 4 different Universities. (summaries at left)
  • Our primary goals are to establish quantitative measures for assessing and diagnosing neurological disorders, and to monitor efficacy of behavioral and pharmacological treatments
  • Applications in clinical research are made possible through rapid measures and high patient throughput capabilities
  • Additional projects are currently launching as we continue to expand our collaborative resource capability
