The U.S. Department of State Office of Science and Technology Cooperation has selected Dr. Zhen Gu as a runner-up in the U.S. Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Science Prize for Innovation, Research, and Education (ASPIRE) Competition. The ASPIRE award recognizes young, promising scientists who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in cross-border scientific research. The award committee was “impressed by [Zhen’s] remarkable accomplishments” in the field of new material technologies. In recognition of his outstanding achievement, Zhen attended an award ceremony in Washington, D.C to accept his prize from Department of State officials.
