A recent $2 million grant from the National Cancer Institute will enable BME faculty member Paul Dayton and researchers at three other institutions to develop ultrasound molecular imaging technology for detecting changes in tumors sooner. Identifying whether or not a tumor is responding to treatment earlier can enable doctors to alter the course of treatment in order to potentially treat the cancer more effectively. The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s news release can be accessed here. Congratulations to Dr. Dayton and his colleagues!
