Welcome to the Gu Group in the Joint Biomedical Engineering Department at the NC State University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The overall goal of our lab is to systematically integrate biomaterials design, biomacromolecular engineering, and micro/nano-fabrication towards on-demand therapeutics and diagnostics, focused on cancer, diabetes and regenerative medicine. Congratulations! BHEL members Adriano (left) and Vinayak (right) 's proposed research projects on "Biomimetic Anti-Cancer Drug Delivery System" and "Novel Drug Delivery Systems for Diabetes Treatment" won the Abrams Scholar Awards. They will be paid to conduct research for the 2011-2012 academic year. There is also a total budget of $ 1000 for supplies to support their research projects.
