On July 10, the Eastern North Carolina chapter of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society sponsored an encore presentation of two of the teams that took part in the BME Symposium held by the Joint UNC/NCSU Biomedical Engineering Department on April 30. The two teams that received the highest amount of virtual funding were invited to present for IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) members — the Sedation Innovation team, which developed a magnetic device for managing and arranging IV lines in hospitals, and the StimuLead team, which developed a process for stabilizing implanted electrodes used for electrical stimulation. The encore presentations gave Eastern North Carolina EMBS members an opportunity to learn about the innovative work being done by the students, and enabled the student teams to get feedback from professionals in the Health IT and biomedical fields.

Members of the Sedation Innovation team included Josh Bishop, Naucika DeSouza, Travis Eason, Sean Mears, and Pooja Sarin. The StimuLead team consisted of Emily Brayman, Stephen Hall, Shanna Hayes, Rochana Javakumar, and Jack Mize.
