Participating in an undergraduate research program is highly recommended. This valuable experience will give you an edge in applying for graduate school, research fellowships, and job applications. Almost all co-ops/internships are paid and may offer travel and housing assistance. If you are interested, follow these steps.
1. Contact a BME undergraduate coordinator.
2. Create an up-to-date, relevant resume. The Career Centers will have helpful information.
3. Check out the University Career Center at UNC or NC State.
4. Identify a research internship program. Application deadlines vary, so start early.
